As a child, Lela enjoyed attending Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. During those early years, she invited Jesus Christ into her heart and life.

As a teenager, Lela was involved with the youth group of her church, attended youth camps, went on youth outings, and participated in Bible Quiz Bowls.  In junior and senior high school, Lela discovered a love for reading and writing.

 As an adult, Lela has been the featured speaker at Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Easter Sunrise Services, ladies’ retreats, banquets, brunches, luncheons. She served as Sunday school teacher, Junior Church director. She was leader of Christian Youth Crusaders, Children’s Church, a weekly morning prayer time and Bible study at work. She was also Coordinator of Marriage Retreats and Ladies’ Oasis.  Currently she is the Ladies’ Luncheon Coordinator as a member of the Women’s Ministry Team and Prayer Meeting Leader/Speaker on a rotation bases at her home church.

As a author, Lela has published several articles and a daily devotional book, Thoughts to Ponder.

Lela worked outside the home as a Nurse’s Aide and Central Supply Technician for ten years at local hospitals. She then earned an Associate’s Degree in Data Processing, followed by a career as a Programmer/Analyst for twenty-five years. She also worked as a Customer Service Rep for three year. Now retired, she is a caregiver for her mother.

After graduation from high school, Lela married Wilbur. God blessed their home with two daughters, Melissa and Amy. Today Wilbur and Lela have been married for over forty years.  They enjoy hiking and going on picnics but most of all they enjoy being grandparents to Emily, Kate and Kourtney.  Lela enjoys cooking, reading, posting on her blog, I’ve been Thinking… and being a recreational photographer making photo greetings cards featuring the pictures she has taken.

Lela, a twin and the fourth child of a minister, was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and  has lived in Grand Cayman, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Indiana.
